YOUNG CHILDREN ARE NATURALLY CURIOUS AND CREATIVE THINKERS. THEY HAVE A SENSE OF WONDER AND AWE ABOUT THE WORLD AROUND THEM AND ARE EAGER TO EXPLORE. AS EDUCATORS, WE CAN GUIDE CHILDREN’S EXPLORATIONS THROUGH EXPERIENCES SET IN NATURE, WITH CHILD-LED, UNSTRUCTURED PLAY THAT WILL PROVIDE THEM WITH THE SKILLS THEY NEED FOR SUCCESS IN SCHOOL AND LIFE.

Wild Wednesdays

Weekly Nature-Based Learning for Children Ages 3–6

Join us for a magical summer of exploration and discovery at Wild Wednesdays, where curiosity blooms and little feet lead the way! Designed for children ages 3–6, this once-a-week camp invites young explorers to connect with the natural world through hands-on activities, outdoor play, and guided discovery.

Each week, campers will dig into a new nature-inspired theme—like bugs, birds, plants, or weather—through storytelling, sensory play, crafts, songs, and group games. Drop-off and pick-up will be at Meadow Speech Therapy, 23 Eric Nord Way, Suite 1, Oberlin. We will meet and begin our day, then take a short walk to local parks to play and discover. Our child-centered approach fosters creativity, confidence, and connection to the environment, all while building early learning skills in a joyful and supportive setting.

Led by experienced educators in a safe, natural setting, Wild Wednesdays encourages children to slow down, wonder, and grow—one leaf, stone, and splash at a time.

Dates: June 11 - July 2
Time: Wednesdays, 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Meadow Speech Therapy; 23 Eric Nord Way, Suite 1, Oberlin, OH

Nature Play Days

Nature-Based Learning for Young Children and Their Caregivers

Join us for exploration and discovery at Nature Play Days, where curiosity blooms and little feet lead the way! Designed for children and their caregivers, Nature Play Days invites young explorers and their families to connect with the natural world through hands-on activities, outdoor play, and guided discovery.

Nature Play Days are held at a variety of locations throughout Lorain County and provide opportunities for young children and their caregivers to connect with nature, engage their curiosity, and enjoy playing and learning together outside. Through risky play, sensory play, loose parts play, and imaginative play, discover how nature-based learning can foster your child’s motor, social-emotional, language and literacy, and school readiness skills.

Led by experienced educators in a safe, natural setting, Nature Play Days encourage children to slow down, wonder, and grow—one leaf, stone, and splash at a time.
